
Becoming an Expert Witness | March 29, 2025
The speakers will discuss specific challenges related to serving as an expert witness as an Interventional Radiologist. This course will cover everything from being contacted by counsel for a potential case, providing a case review, delivering a deposition, taking the stand in a court proceeding, and how to handle a cross examination. In addition, we will explore some of the moral and ethical ramifications of being an expert witness.
This course is required for obtaining credits earned live at the SIR 2025 Annual Meeting Session: Becoming an Expert Witness.
Purpose/Desired Learning Outcome
Following this activity, learners will be able to implement effective communication strategies in legal settings and apply their clinical knowledge to determine standard of care. Learners will utilize courtroom presentation skills, legal terminology, and ethical frameworks to serve confidently as expert witnesses.
