To provide foundational knowledge for the management of renal masses, including benign and malignant neoplasms of the kidney, renal cysts, and abscesses.

Learning Objectives
- Appreciate the role of, and surgical alternatives to, percutaneous ablation in the management of renal cell carcinoma
- Obtain a working knowledge of the relative strengths and weaknesses of different thermal ablation modalities as well as strategies for protecting adjacent critical structures.
- Understand the role and limitations of renal artery embolization in the management of angiomyolipomas, including factors influencing treatment failure.
- Review the pre- and posttreatment management of patients presenting with renal masses, including the role of biopsy and most common complications
- Understand the role of image-guided therapy in the management of renal cystic disease and abscesses.
